It will be very difficult to recover your account if the hacker modifies your current password. Google provides few options to recover and get back hacked user accounts, but the hacker can play smart to make every attemptunsuccessful. 

However, there are two ways to  recover hacked Gmail or Google account :
1.  Resetting Gmail / Google Account Password  
2.  Contacting Google Support Team 


Resetting Gmail / Google Account Password 
If you think that your account has been compromised or someone else is using your account but the password is still the same, you should change it as soon as possible. 
To do so Visit: 
https://www.google.com/accounts/ForgotPasswd 
Provide your Google login name to continue. 

• If you had verified your account with a mobile phone number, a recovery code will be sent to your mobile number and you can reset your password using the recovery code number.

• If you have a Google account but don’t use Gmail, apassword reset email will be sent to your primary email address. Follow the steps to change your password.
• If you use Gmail, a password reset email will be sent to your secondary email address, from where you can change the password.
• If you don’t have configured any secondary email address but still use Gmail, Visit http://www.google.com/support/accounts/bin/request.py?contact_type=reset_password  and recover the password manually by answering security questions.

Now if the above steps don’t come in your help, follow the below final method to get back hacked Gmail account.

Contacting Google Support Team 

This is the last hope where you need to prove yourself as the owner of the hacked account. To contact Google team visit:
https://www.google.com/support/accounts/bin/request.py?ara=1&hl=en&contact_type=ara&ctx=ara



Now after Going to that page select the option No as shown in figure:

                                              

                     
Now below the Form will appear asking for "Contact information and problem details". Fill that form and wait 24 hours...You have to fill Following details:

1. Account creation date – Check the first Gmail welcome mail to know the date of your account creation
2. Last successful login date – The last time got logged in to any of your Google account services successfully
3. Last used password that you remember
4. Invitation code – If you had opened Gmail account via an invitation, get the invitation code
5. Other Google services that you use and the date of their creation
6. 5 Email addresses  that you used most to send or Receive mails
7. Provide name of labels, if any!

Note these are not hard and fast rules but try to provide as much as information as possible...The only way to recover your password using the second method is by providing as much informations as possible. Google will take all your provided informations along with the IP address of your form submission into account while checking your genuineness, so fill up the form from the same place where you access your account most.

Gmail provides an additional security feature to protect your email account through the means of IP address logging. That is, Gmail records your IP address every time you login to your Gmail account. So, if a third party gets access to your account then even his/her IP is also recorded. To see a list of recorded IP address, scroll down to the bottom of your Gmail account and you’ll see something like this.

You can see from the above figure that Gmail shows the IP address of last login (last account activity). You can click on Details to see the IP address of your last 5 activities. If you find that the IP listed in the logs doesn’t belong to you, then you can suspect unauthorized activity.

Steps to stop unauthorized activity on your email account

1. Verify you mobile phone, so that if your account is somehow got hacked then it will be easier to recover your email password.
2. If you suspect that your account is already hacked then these are the recommended things that you should perform.
a.  Change your Password
b.  Change your security question.
c.  Remove any third party email address (if any) to which your account is set to forward emails.
d.  Make sure that you can access the email account of your secondary email address.
e.  Also change you secondary email password and security question.

Hack email accounts or passwords using session cookies

Hi friends,Today i will show you the practical implementation of session hijacking that how can we take over others sessions and hack his email accounts and other website passwords. In this tutorial of hacking email accounts using session cookies, i will explain you with the help of yahoo account. I will tell you how to hack yahoo account using session cookies. 

What are Session Cookies or Magic Cookie or Session ID?

Lets discuss this in very simple language, Whenever we login in our account, it generates a unique string that contains the path of automatic login for particular time then after that limited time it expires by itself.
Note its life is only up to when your web browser is open. If you close your web browser it will be get deleted(Its latest up gradation in cookie's field for providing more security).
Now this unique string or simply called Magic cookie is stored at two places first copy is stored on server(of which we cannot do anything) and second is stored in our web browser in form of cookie.
This cookie is destroyed by three ways first is when you close your web browser, second is when you sign out of your account and third is if you left your account open for more than 20 minutes idle.

How to access the cookies on local system?

As i am explaining this tutorial for hacking yahoo email account. So in your web browser just open yahoo.com and login into your account.
After that type the below code exactly and then press enter:

Now a popup box will appear showing the cookies something like this:

Now create one fake account on yahoo.com and login in that account and retrieve the cookie in same manner and notice the changes in session ID's.


For hacking the session cookies we first need the session cookies of the victim and its quite simple to get the session cookies of the victim. You just need to send him one link as soon as he clicks on that we will get his session cookie.

After hacking the session cookies, we can use stolen session cookie to login into victim's account even without providing username and password as i already explained that session hacking removes the authentication on the server as we have the AUTO LOGIN cookie. In this type of attack when victim sign out , then hacker will also sign out. But in case of YAHOO its little bit different, when victim signout but attacker still have the access to his account. Yahoo maintains the session for 24 hours and then destroy the session ID's from its server.

How to Steal the Session Cookies?

1. Go to the Website and register there:

2. Download the Cookie stealer files:

3. Now upload the four files on the website and create one empty directory naming Cookies as shown below:

4. Now Send the link of yahoo.php to victim. Now what will happen when user clicks on the yahoo.php is that its cookies are get stored into directory Cookies and simultaneously he is redirected to his account.

5. Now open the link Hacked.PHP to access the cookies. In my files the password is "password". You need to put that to access the files.

6. You must have got the username of victim's account. Simply Click on it and it would take you to inbox of victim's yahoo account without asking for any password.

Now it doesn't matter if victim signs out from his account, you would remain logged into it.

Note: You can try this attack by using two browsers. Sign into yahoo account in one browser and run the code. Then sign in through other browser using stolen session.

Introduction
Hacking web application was always curious for the script kiddies. And hacking free web email account is every geek first attempt. The method which I will describe in this post is not new; the same method can be applied to yahoo and other free web email services too.
The method we will be using is cookie stealing and replaying the same back to the Gmail server. There are many ways you can steal cookie, one of them is XSS (Cross site scripting) discussed by other is earlier post. But we won’t be using any XSS here, in our part of attack we will use some local tool to steal cookie and use that cookie to get an access to Gmail account. 

Assumption:

• You are in Local Area Network (LAN) in a switched / wireless environment : example : office , cyber café, Mall etc.
• You know basic networking.

Tool used for this attack:

• Cain & Abel
• Network Miner
• Firefox web browser with Cookie Editor add-ons

Attack in detail:

We assume you are connected to LAN/Wireless network. Our main goal is to capture Gmail GX cookie from the network. We can only capture cookie when someone is actually using his gmail. I’ve noticed normally in lunch time in office, or during shift start people normally check their emails. If you are in cyber café or in Mall then there are more chances of catching people using Gmail.
We will go step by step,
If you are using Wireless network then you can skip this Step A.
A] Using Cain to do ARP poisoning and routing:
Switch allows unicast traffic mainly to pass through its ports. When X and Y are communicating eachother in switch network then Z will not come to know what X & Y are communicating, so inorder to sniff that communication you would have to poison ARP table of switch for X & Y. In Wireless you don’t have to do poisoning because Wireless Access points act like HUB which forwards any communication to all its ports (recipients).
